A President Who Understands How Influence Works
Julio Rivera is a communications strategist, nationally published political and technology commentator, digital marketing executive, and entrepreneur who brings a distinctive combination of media experience, editorial leadership, financial research, and performance-driven marketing expertise to JMI Strategies LLC.
As President, Rivera leads a multidisciplinary consultancy specializing in public relations, digital marketing, investor communications, political PR, and public affairs. His approach draws on years of experience across the media, technology, financial publishing, business, and political landscapes, helping organizations sharpen their message, strengthen their reputations, expand their reach, and compete more effectively in an increasingly crowded information environment.
Rivera’s professional advantage is rooted in firsthand experience. As a contributing columnist whose work has appeared in prominent national publications, an editorial director responsible for publishing news and commentary, and a frequent broadcast and digital media guest, he understands how stories are developed, how editors evaluate pitches, and what separates a message that gets noticed from one that gets ignored.
His bylines include Newsmax, The Hill, The Washington Times, The Washington Examiner, The Toronto Sun, Townhall, Human Events, American Greatness, PJ Media, BizPac Review, American Thinker, California Globe, and numerous other publications. His television and media appearances have included Newsmax, Fox News, Sky News, GB News, OAN, Real America’s Voice, CBN, NewsNation, and SiriusXM. This experience gives him firsthand familiarity with the demands of written journalism, broadcast commentary, and the communications strategies required to reach different audiences.
That perspective informs the way JMI approaches every engagement: with a clear understanding of the audience, a disciplined message, and a strategy designed to produce meaningful results.
Financial Publishing, Market Research, and Investor Communications
Long before founding JMI Strategies, Rivera gained hands-on experience at the intersection of financial research, editorial management, and digital publishing. From 2007 to 2010, he served as Newsletter Editor and Microcap Stock Analyst for HotStocked.com, an online destination for microcap and small-cap stock research.
In that role, Rivera managed the editorial life cycle of the site’s subscriber newsletter, from identifying companies and researching their business prospects to writing, editing, and distributing content to a subscriber base of more than four million readers. His work involved screening lesser-followed companies for developments worthy of investor attention, examining public filings, press releases, financial statements, and management commentary, and translating that research into accessible company profiles and market analysis for retail investors.
As editor, he helped determine editorial priorities, selected companies and themes for coverage, managed content production, and oversaw newsletter distribution. He also monitored audience engagement and campaign performance, using subscriber response and readership data to refine content selection and improve the effectiveness of the publication.
The experience provided a practical foundation in financial communications, audience development, editorial decision-making, and the challenges of presenting complex business information clearly to a broad readership. It also offered early exposure to the relationship between compelling content, digital distribution, and sustained audience engagement.
This background complements JMI’s work in investor communications and strategic positioning, where clarity, credibility, and the ability to communicate a company’s business proposition to relevant stakeholders are essential. Rivera understands the importance of presenting financial and business information in a way that is accessible, engaging, and appropriate to its intended audience.
Where Communications Meets Performance
Rivera has worked in SEO and web marketing since 2017, building expertise across technical and on-page search engine optimization, search engine marketing, digital PR, high-authority link acquisition, content strategy, and online reputation development. At JMI, these disciplines work together to help clients build lasting digital authority rather than chase short-lived bursts of attention.
His philosophy is straightforward: visibility matters most when it reaches the right people, reinforces credibility, and advances a larger business objective. Public relations can strengthen brand recognition and support digital visibility. Thought leadership can elevate an executive’s standing within an industry. Strategic content can build authority, attract qualified audiences, and support long-term growth. Paid media can accelerate demand while organic visibility compounds over time.
By connecting these functions under a unified strategy, Rivera helps clients bring greater consistency to their communications, greater precision to their marketing, and greater purpose to their investments in audience growth and brand development.
His experience spans the editorial and commercial sides of digital publishing, giving him an understanding of both the content that attracts attention and the technical and strategic mechanisms that help audiences discover it. That combination informs JMI’s integrated approach to public relations, search visibility, content development, and digital marketing performance.
An Entrepreneurial Perspective on Technology and Security
Rivera is also the founder of CerbaCore.com, a cybersecurity research platform and software services provider, and serves as Editorial Director of ReactionaryTimes.com, where he oversees news and opinion content spanning politics, technology, and cybersecurity.
His work at the intersection of public policy and emerging technology gives him a practical appreciation for the reputational, operational, and communications challenges facing modern organizations. Through his technology and cybersecurity interests, he engages with issues that increasingly affect businesses, institutions, policymakers, and the public.
From executive positioning and media relations to digital growth strategy and public affairs, Rivera brings a broad perspective to complex issues and an ability to communicate them clearly to different audiences. His experience is particularly relevant in industries where credibility, technical expertise, and public understanding must reinforce one another.
He understands that sophisticated products, specialized services, and complex ideas must be translated into compelling messages without sacrificing accuracy or substance. That ability to bridge technical subject matter and effective communication is an important part of the strategic perspective he brings to JMI.
A Strategic Partner for Organizations That Need to Be Heard
Rivera founded JMI Strategies to bring strategic communications, digital marketing, and multimedia capabilities together in a flexible, results-oriented consultancy. Established in 2020, the firm reflects his belief that businesses and individuals should be able to communicate their value effectively, build a credible public presence, and reach the audiences whose attention can make a difference.
JMI works across a broad range of client needs, from public relations and media outreach to search engine optimization, digital advertising, thought leadership, investor communications, and political PR and public affairs. The firm also helps authors, bloggers, podcasters, subject-matter experts, and emerging thought leaders pursue opportunities to expand beyond their existing audiences and build recognition through larger media platforms.
Whether supporting a company’s public profile, strengthening an executive’s thought leadership, developing an investor communications narrative, improving search visibility, or helping an organization make its case on a public policy issue, Rivera approaches each assignment with the same priorities: understand the objective, identify the audience, develop the right message, and execute with discipline.
For Rivera, effective strategy requires both the big picture and the details that determine whether a campaign succeeds. That means combining editorial judgment with analytical thinking, creative communication with technical execution, and a clear vision with measurable objectives.
His career across journalism, financial publishing, digital marketing, technology, and strategic communications informs a practical understanding of how organizations build influence and compete for attention. He recognizes that reputation is earned, authority is developed over time, and effective marketing requires more than simply being visible. It requires reaching the right audience with the right message through the right channels.
At JMI Strategies, the goal is not simply to generate attention. It is to build the credibility, visibility, and strategic advantage that allow clients to move forward with confidence.
